6 Day West Coast Explorer - Moderate

 

Tracks Include; Sandy Cape, Balfour Track, Pieman Heads, Climies Track Highlights, Corinna, Zeehan.

 

This is our Explorer (Moderate) Tour and is suitable for a modified 4wd with low range, snorkel, suspension lift, rear recovery point, sand flag, good all terrain tyres and a UHF (hand held is fine). Drivers should have some 4wdriving experience.

This Adventure has everything, from beaches, magnificent views, technical rock driving and everything in between! We drive some of Tasmania's most iconic 4wd tracks and explore Tasmania's unique (and hidden!) mining history. Departs Burnie and ends in Zeehan.

​

This tour is camping only and you are required to bring along all of your camping gear (tent, swag, roof top tent etc)​.

​

Included is all camping fees, APCA 4wd permit and Pieman River barge.

​

The tours are very friendly and relaxed... a lot of people on our tours have made good friends with other attendees. We usually get away by 8-9 am every day and aim to be at camp around 4-5pm.

 Itinerary

Day 1
After meeting up in Burnie we head to Sandy Cape for plenty of beach driving.

Day 2
We tackle the iconic Balfour Track today before checking out some amazing West Coast views 

Day 3
We explore the hidden sites of the old mining town of Balfour we head to camp at the amazing riverside township of Corinna. 

Day 4
After crossing the Pieman River on the Fatman Barge we head south and checkout some of the highlights on Climies Track before heading to camp at the historic town of Zeehan. 

Day 5
Today we tackle one of Tassie’s most scenic 4wd Tracks, the Pieman Heads.

Day 6
Back to the beach! We head south and drive Ocean Beach.
