The Beginning

I often get asked on tour how I came to start Tasmanian Offroad Adventures. It's a story that I enjoy telling because it has a bit of a feel good factor for me!
For years I had the idea of running 4wd Tagalong Tours. At parties, BBQ's and any other get togethers with mates I would always ask (after a few beers!) them what their perfect job would be, regardless of logistics (such as pay!). The answers would be varied, some didn't have answers at all. I always knew my answer and was happy to share it if anyone asked the question back to me..... run 4wd Tagalong Tours. I thought it would be the ultimate job to show people around Tassie's awesome 4wd tracks. I had led quite a few trips via an old online 4wd Forum and really enjoyed it and I think that is where the seed was planted.
Aside from TOA I own another business with my wife. This has been my main employment since I started it in Sydney back in 2000. After 15 years or so I decided that I needed a bit of a change and a new challenge.
Along the way I had dabbled in another couple of business's including importing 4wd and camping goods. I also looked very closely into becoming a franchise for a major 4wd gear supplier. Neither were quite the challenge I was looking for.
It was then that I decided I would turn my 'great idea' into reality!
So I started Tasmanian Offroad Adventures. It's a part time business at this stage and still in it's infancy but I am in it for the long haul and have some exciting long term plans!
